F-PKB MPR Member: Government Success Not Just a List of Achievements

MPR RI member from the PKB faction Maman Imanulhaq believes the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration cannot be measured solely by the number of reported achievements. According to him, the primary measure of the government’s success is the impact of its policies on public welfare and the sense of justice. This was conveyed by Maman in response to the performance report speech of state institutions delivered by President Prabowo during the 2026 MPR RI Annual Session at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026). Maman appreciated several achievements presented by Prabowo. However, he reminded that the government still faces a number of challenges, ranging from people’s purchasing power, job creation, and equitable development to the effectiveness of government programmes. ‘The measure of the government’s success ultimately is not the length of the list of achievements, but how real the welfare and sense of justice are felt by the people,’ said Maman in his statement on Friday (14/8/2026). He stated that various government policies need to be monitored so they do not stop at the programme level. According to him, policy implementation must yield concrete results that can be felt by the public. Maman also assessed that the direction of Prabowo’s administration has been visible through efforts to maintain stability and continue development. However, consistency between vision, policy, and results remains an important aspect that must be maintained by all levels of government. ‘The important thing is to ensure that the entire bureaucracy maintains consistency between vision, policy, and results that are truly felt by the public,’ he elaborated. He also appreciated President Prabowo’s calm demeanour in facing various criticisms of his administration circulating on social media. According to him, this steadfastness demonstrates a leadership style that is not easily swayed by the dynamics of public opinion. ‘The President must not make social media opinion the sole measure in making policy. Criticism must be heard, but state decisions must be based on data, the people’s interests, the constitution, and a long-term vision,’ he stressed. Regarding President Prabowo’s speech delivery style, which was considered more textbook and lacking in improvisation, Maman viewed it as a political communication choice. According to him, a state address indeed requires message precision, prudence, and consistency in conveying the government’s policy direction. ‘However, going forward it will be stronger if the firmness of substance is combined with a personal touch and improvisation, so that the President’s message feels closer to the emotions and experiences of the people,’ he hoped.
