F-16 Fighter Jet Escorts Prabowo During Visit to Jordan
The reception for President Prabowo Subianto in Jordan is always special. Every time he visits the Land of Prophets, Prabowo receives an escort of fighter jets as he approaches Amman, Jordan.
On his latest visit, Prabowo arrived in Amman on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). Prabowo’s arrival was greeted by F-16 fighter jets from the Jordanian Air Force.
Prabowo landed at Marka Military Airport, Amman at 8:00 PM local time. Upon arrival, Prabowo was immediately warmly welcomed by the Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. From the Indonesian side, Indonesian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ade Padmo Sarwono and Indonesian Defense Attaché to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Colonel Dafris D. Syahruddin, were present.
Prabowo Communicates via Radio with F-16 Pilot
Prabowo expressed his pleasure with the reception from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during his visit to Amman. Prabowo appreciated the warm welcome from the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, by providing a fighter jet escort.
As the presidential plane carrying Prabowo entered Jordanian airspace, Jordanian F16 fighter jets immediately escorted it on the right and left sides. The fighter jets flew in precise formation, escorting the President’s plane until it approached landing at Marka Military Airport.
The atmosphere was warm when one of the F16 pilots conveyed a direct greeting from the air. Through radio communication from inside the cockpit, the pilot conveyed a message of honor to Prabowo.
“Your Excellency Mr. President, Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. This is Lion One speaking. Your Excellency, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, we are honored to welcome you to Jordanian airspace. It is a great honor to escort your flight this evening. We hope you enjoy your visit and have a safe landing. Ramadan Mubarak, Sir,” said the pilot.
In response to the greeting, Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the honor given. The Head of State also expressed his gratitude to King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan for the friendly welcome.
“Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Lion Flight, Indonesia One. This is President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia,” said Prabowo.
“I would like to thank you and your flight for being willing to receive and escort me. And please convey to your commander and His Majesty the King how happy I am to be back in Amman, Jordan. Thank you very much, Lion Flight. This is Indonesia One. Once again, Ramadan Mubarak. May you all be blessed in this holy month. Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,” he continued.
Repeating Last Year
Prabowo also received a special welcome when he visited Jordan in April 2025. Quoted by the Presidential Secretariat Bureau, Monday (April 14, 2025), Prabowo’s presidential plane was escorted by Jordanian Air Force fighter jets until it landed at Marka.
Upon arriving at the bottom of the plane’s stairs, Prabowo was immediately greeted by King Abdullah II with a firm handshake and a hug. The two then walked side by side past the guard of honor and introduced their respective delegations before going up to the main podium.
Then King Abdullah II personally escorted President Prabowo to the hotel where he would stay. King Abdullah II even drove the Presidential car himself, while Prabowo sat in the seat next to him.
