EyeROV: Indian Deep-Tech Startup Showcases Underwater Drones to World Leaders
From Kochi to the BRICS Summit, EyeROV is developing domestic marine technology with global ambitions.
Kochi, India, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — An underwater robot developed in Kochi recently became the centre of attention when presented before several prominent world leaders. Behind this technology is EyeROV, an Indian deep-tech company striving to make underwater inspections and marine operations safer and more efficient.
During the Bharat Innovates Exposition, organised by the Ministry of Education as part of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, EyeROV’s pavilion was visited by Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi; Russian President Vladimir Putin; Chinese President Xi Jinping; Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian; Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto; and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Co-founder and CEO Johns T. Mathai demonstrated the company’s Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) technology and explained how underwater robots can be utilised to support infrastructure inspection, defence, maritime security, and scientific research.
Technology for the underwater world
Dams, bridges, ports, and offshore installations rely on structures that are often difficult to reach and inspect underwater. EyeRO_V develops robotic systems and intelligent underwater solutions that assist operators in conducting inspections, collecting data, and determining appropriate maintenance steps based on inspection results.
Its portfolio includes Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV), Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV), specialised systems for marine inspection, and AI-based data analysis.
