E&Y launches Entrepreneur Award
JAKARTA: Accounting firm Ernst & Young (E&Y) has launched the
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award program aimed at
promoting role model entrepreneurs.
E&Y official John B. Arnold said nominations started on
Wednesday and will continue through Aug. 31 and the jury would
announce the winners on Oct. 16.
He said a nominee must be an owner in-charge and primarily
responsible for the recent performance of a company during the
past two years.
The founders of public companies are also eligible, provided
they are still active in top-level management or have 51 percent
or more ownership, he added.
"The winner for this year will compete with 29 top
entrepreneurs from 29 countries to win the 2003 World
Entrepreneur of the Year," Arnold added.
Last year, the winner for the category of Indonesian
Entrepreneur of The Year was Dahlan Iskan of the Jawa Pos Group,
a print media group.--JP
