E&Y launches Entrepreneur Award
JAKARTA: Accounting firm Ernst & Young (E&Y) has launched the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award program aimed at promoting role model entrepreneurs.
E&Y official John B. Arnold said nominations started on Wednesday and will continue through Aug. 31 and the jury would announce the winners on Oct. 16.
He said a nominee must be an owner in-charge and primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company during the past two years.
The founders of public companies are also eligible, provided they are still active in top-level management or have 51 percent or more ownership, he added.
"The winner for this year will compete with 29 top entrepreneurs from 29 countries to win the 2003 World Entrepreneur of the Year," Arnold added.
Last year, the winner for the category of Indonesian Entrepreneur of The Year was Dahlan Iskan of the Jawa Pos Group, a print media group.--JP
