ExxonMobil in 'standby' mode

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones): Exxon Mobil Corp. is maintaining its
Aceh operations in a state of "ready start-up" as it continues to
discuss resuming production there, William Cummings, spokesman
for ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc., said Thursday.

The company is "continuing to discuss" restarting production
at its onshore Aceh gas fields with its Indonesian partners, he
said, adding that so far, no agreement has been reached.

A joint technical team from Indonesian oil and gas company
Pertamina and Exxon Mobil is studying procedures for safely
restarting production at Exxon Mobil's onshore Arun, South
Lhoksukon and Pase fields, Cummings said.

The company is producing 100 million to 200 million standard
cubic feet of gas a day from its North Sumatra offshore field,
sufficient to maintain minimal safety and electrical systems at
its own operations and those of PT Arun NGL Co., which operates
the gas liquefaction plant in Aceh, he said.

Exxon Mobil in March suspended operations at its onshore gas
fields that feed the Arun LNG plant, citing security concerns in
the face of increasing unrest in Aceh.
