Extreme Weather Warning for Jakarta and Surrounding Areas, 20–24 May 2026

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned of potential rainfall ranging from moderate to very heavy in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi region (Jabodetabek) during 20-24 May 2026. Several areas in DKI Jakarta were placed on an alert for heavy to very heavy rain in the weather early warning issued by BMKG. Separately, the Jakarta Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) urged residents to heighten awareness of the potential impacts of extreme weather, including floods and standing water. Based on BMKG updates via the Instagram account @infobmkg, the weather early warning remains in effect for the next five days through Sunday 24 May 2026.
