Several areas in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, have been flooded due to extreme weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds. The floods have affected 10 villages in the Sungai Tabuk and Cintapuri Darusalam sub-districts, impacting 1,577 families and causing trees to fall in several areas.

The Head of the Banjar Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Wasis Nugraha, stated that the floods are currently affecting 10 villages in two sub-districts of Banjar Regency. “High rainfall and overflowing rivers have caused some areas to be flooded again,” he said.

The floods, which have been ongoing for the past few days, have affected Lok Buntar Village in Sungai Tabuk sub-district and nine villages in Cintapuri Darusalam sub-district, including Benua Anyar, Garis Hanyar, Cintapuri, Alalak Padang, Makmur Karya, Sumber Sari, Simpang Lima, Karya Makmur, and Sindang Jaya. The floods have inundated 1,196 homes, affecting 1,577 families or 4,284 people.

The floods have also affected 1,295 hectares of agricultural land. Lok Buntar Village in Sungai Tabuk sub-district is a low-lying area near the river, and it was one of the worst-affected areas during the major floods in early January 2026. In the nine villages in Cintapuri Darusalam sub-district, the floods are believed to be caused by both overflowing rivers and the discharge of water from a plantation company, which has drawn protests from residents.
