According to official announcements, temperatures in Mina and Muzdalifah have reached 48°C. This condition significantly impacts pilgrims’ physical well-being. Temperatures are projected to rise further, potentially exceeding 50°C during midday. The extreme heat will be particularly intense in areas with no wind.
Precautionary Measures for Pilgrims
The Ministry has issued critical guidelines for pilgrims to prevent dehydration and heatstroke. Key recommendations include:
Drink water regularly, do not wait until thirsty.
Use light-coloured umbrellas or protective gear to reflect heat.
Rest in shaded areas periodically to recover.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Checklist for Hajj Pilgrims

Sunglasses: UV and dust protection
Umbrella: Choose foldable for portability
Mask: Cover nose and mouth, replace every 4-6 hours
Passport bag: Contains passport, snacks, and medications
Plastic bag/tote bag: For storing sandals and moisturiser
Water spray: Keep drinking water and spray bottle filled
Footwear: Ensure proper fit with back straps

Wukuf, the key Hajj ritual performed on 9 Zulhijjah, is considered the pinnacle of the pilgrimage where pilgrims remain in Arafah. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s (Kemenhaj) 1447H/2026M Hajj Travel Plan, 9 Zulhijjah 1447H falls on 26 May 2026, marking the 2026 Hajj peak at Arafah.
