Extra buses ready for Idul Fitri

SEMARANG, Central Java: The land transportation office has
prepared 24,815 buses for the Idul Fitri and New Year exodus, an
official said here Monday.

"In addition to the buses prepared, an extra 188 buses will be
operated during Idul Fitri," Rasiswo said.

The buses have been readied for the exodus of travelers during
the holidays from Dec. 18, 1997 through to Jan. 4, 1998, Antara
quoted Rasiswo as saying.

Rasiswo said he is optimistic that the 188 additional vehicles
will help serve the transportation needs of more than one million
passengers. (swe)
