Exposed! Sahroni Extortionist Claims to Be KPK Enforcement Bureau Chief
Jakarta, VIVA – Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, has disclosed that a fake Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employee who extorted him for Rp300 million claimed to be the head of the KPK’s Enforcement Bureau. “It’s true that I was extorted by someone claiming to be the head of the KPK’s Enforcement Bureau, who demanded Rp300 million in the name of the KPK leadership,” Sahroni said on Friday, 10 April 2026. When asked for the Rp300 million, Sahroni did not remain silent. He immediately confirmed the matter with the anti-corruption agency. “I confirmed with the KPK, and it was stated to be untrue. Therefore, the KPK coordinated with Metro Jaya Police, and I eventually filed a report,” he said. “And I cooperated with the KPK and Metro Jaya Police, resulting in the arrest of the person impersonating the KPK leadership last night,” Sahroni explained. Chronology of Sahroni’s Rp300 Million Extortion Previously reported, Sahroni revealed that the extortion case began when a woman came to the House of Representatives and wanted to meet him. During the meeting, the woman introduced herself as an envoy from the KPK leadership. The woman then asked Sahroni for Rp300 million. “So the chronology is that a woman came to the DPR and asked to meet me. Then I met her, and she claimed to be an envoy from the KPK leadership, and there she asked for Rp300 million to support the KPK leadership,” Sahroni said. Sahroni stated that he immediately confirmed with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the envoy. However, the KPK denied it. “I immediately checked with the KPK, and the KPK denied having such an envoy,” he said. After confirming there was no official KPK envoy, Sahroni immediately coordinated with the anti-corruption agency and the police to arrest the woman. “The KPK then coordinated with Metro Jaya Police, and after that, I reported this case to Metro Jaya Police. I then cooperated with Metro Jaya Police and the KPK to arrest this person by providing the money at her house,” Sahroni explained.
