Exposed: DKI Official Vehicle's Ploy Using White Plates in Puncak

A short video on the streets of Puncak has unveiled a longer story. It is not merely a traffic violation, but a matter of how official vehicles are used and even disguised. The incident began when police stopped a Suzuki Ertiga with plate B 1732 PQG in the Puncak area, West Java. However, the vehicle was using white plates like a private car. “Why change it to red, for what?” the police asked. “Because there’s an office asset event,” replied a passenger in the vehicle. Upon further questioning, the driver admitted the plate was changed to avoid drawing attention. “Just so it doesn’t stand out,” said the driver. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government subsequently confirmed that the vehicle is a regional asset. Faisal conveyed an apology to the public over the incident. “We extend our apologies to the community for the inconvenience caused. Public attention and input are an important part of strengthening transparent and accountable government governance,” said Faisal. He also emphasised that changing official vehicle plates is not permitted. The use of official vehicles must comply with their intended purpose and applicable regulations.
