Explosion... Blast Heard from SPU Facility in Pertamina Losarang Area, Indramayu; Investigation Team Probes Incident

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, INDRAMAYU – The unloading facility at the Main Collection Station (SPU) Cemara, owned by PT Pertamina EP Region 2 Zone 7 in Rajaiyang Village, Losarang District, Indramayu Regency, caught fire on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Videos of the facility ablaze circulated widely on social media. According to information from local residents, the fire, accompanied by an explosion, occurred around 12.30pm Western Indonesia Time. The explosion was even heard in residential areas approximately 500 metres from the incident site. “Yes, the explosion sound was heard and the fire was large,” said a resident who witnessed the extinguishing process from outside the SPU area. PT Pertamina EP Jatibarang Field quickly mobilised to extinguish the blaze. Seven fire engines were deployed to the scene.
