Exploring Village Potential in Klaten

Several cyclists rode around a village in Kemudo, Prambanan, Klaten, Central Java, on Thursday 21 May 2026. Participants from various countries joined the ‘Social Culture Ride’ village tour as part of the Klaten International Cycling Festival (KLIC Fest 2026), which aims to strengthen the promotion of culture and tourism and to support the Klaten Regency Government’s International Soft Diplomacy efforts.

Ambassador of the Netherlands to Indonesia Marc Gerritsen (right) and Ambassador of Germany to Indonesia Ralf Beste (second from left) attempted to make batik ciprat during the village tour in Kemudo, Prambanan. The event drew participants from several nations as they explored the village on the Social Culture Ride, promoting culture and tourism and supporting international soft diplomacy initiatives led by the Klaten Regency Government.

Another group of participants tried the rice-harvesting process while touring Randusari village in Prambanan, Klaten. The ‘Social Culture Ride’ continues to bring together international participants as part of KLIC Fest 2026 to showcase Klaten’s cultural and tourism potential and to advance Soft Diplomacy initiatives by the Klaten Regency Government.
