Experts needed for E. Timor border issue

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Drawing a fixed borderline between Indonesia and East Timor remains a difficult task because of unclear border demarcation points, according to an expert on international law from the University of Nusa Cendana in Kupang.

Marnixon RC Willa said the two countries needed to find experts who knew the exact history of the area in order to locate all the fixed, indisputable points along the border.

"Without historical witnesses, I believe that it will be difficult for the two countries to agree on the border, although discussions are ongoing," said Marnixon. --Antara
