Expert Goes to School Programme Prepares SMKN 6 Tangsel Students for the Digital World
The South Tangerang City Government continues to strengthen students’ digital competencies through the Tangsel Digital Academy programme. This collaborative initiative between the South Tangerang Communication and Informatics Department (Diskominfo), South Tangerang Institute of Technology (ITTS), and SMK Negeri 6 South Tangerang has received positive responses from the students. The training, which began on 14 April 2026, adopts the ‘Expert Goes to School’ concept, bringing practitioners directly into the school environment. The programme runs for three days each week over a three-week period, focusing on information technology mastery, particularly the basics of website development. One participant, Rezi Ahmad Fauzi, said the training provided a different learning experience compared to classroom settings. According to him, the material on databases was the most interesting part, offering new insights, including the use of tools he had never encountered before. ‘What I like is understanding databases and such, data types, variables too. Because it’s very basic and easy to grasp, but very relevant for delving deeper into website creation,’ he stated. Rezi also highlighted the direct practical approach as the main strength of the training. With this method, participants not only understand the theory but also apply it immediately. ‘If it’s just material, it’s quite hard to process, so it’s nice to practise directly like this; we know the flow, for example, like this,’ he explained. He added that the material delivery by the speakers was sequential, clear, and easy to understand. ‘The explanations are detailed and slow, so we can follow well. The delivery method is also pleasant to listen to and clear,’ he said. This programme is expected to be a concrete step in producing a young generation that is adaptive to technological developments, while strengthening students’ readiness to meet the increasingly growing needs of the digital industry.
