Expedition Warehouse in Kebumen Firebombed, Sack of Parcels Looted
An expedition warehouse in Kaligending village, Karangsambung, Kebumen, was attacked with a Molotov cocktail by a group of youths involved in a dispute. Not only that, a sack containing parcels was also carried off.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday (11 July) when two groups of youths agreed to settle an ongoing dispute between them. Before attacking the warehouse, the perpetrators assaulted a passer-by near the Red and White Bridge and engaged in a chase with another group.
In front of the expedition warehouse, one of the perpetrators with the initials RB threw a Molotov cocktail at a man with the initials WF, striking his jacket. The Molotov cocktail also hit the warehouse, setting fire to a number of parcels inside.
Several perpetrators then entered the warehouse. Together, they assaulted an employee, mistaking him for a member of the rival group.
“In that situation, one of the perpetrators with the initials BGS is suspected of taking advantage of the chaos by making off with a sack containing Shopee parcels from inside the warehouse,” said the Kebumen Police Chief, AKBP I Putu Bagus Krisna Purnama, as reported by detikJateng on Thursday (16 July).
After receiving a report, the Kebumen Police conducted an investigation and named RB as a suspect. Meanwhile, two other perpetrators, namely GJ and BGS, are still on the run and have been placed on the wanted persons list (DPO).
