Expedition Company Employees in Sunter to be Questioned Over Alleged Embezzlement and Theft
Jakarta – The Mobile Response Unit Chief of North Jakarta Metropolitan Police, IPTU Seno Aji Pradana, stated that expedition company employees allegedly held in unlawful detention will be questioned regarding the embezzlement allegations.
He indicated that the employees have not yet been questioned and are only scheduled to be examined this week.
“The examination has not yet occurred. The plan is this week,” Seno said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Monday (2 March 2026).
“We are prepared to handle the allegations of theft and/or embezzlement as reported by the expedition company,” he added.
The investigation into the incident involving the detention of six expedition employees in Sunter, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, has now opened the door to reports concerning alleged embezzlement and fraud allegedly perpetrated by expedition company employees.
The Criminal Investigation Head of North Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Onkoseno Grandiarso Sukahar, explained that the incident has generated two separate reports covering two different cases: alleged false imprisonment and alleged embezzlement and fraud.
“Yes, two separate cases. We are currently investigating both of these reported incidents,” said Onkoseno.
Currently, North Jakarta Police are handling the report concerning the alleged theft and/or embezzlement case.
For the alleged false imprisonment case, that matter is being handled by Tanjung Priok Police Station.
“We have already reported the embezzlement and theft incident to North Jakarta Metropolitan Police,” said J&T Express legal representatives Adriansyah Halim and Pandapotan Pinbatu in Jakarta on Monday.
The report followed up on the allegations of detention that were circulated by irresponsible individuals and triggered public unease.
“The recording was obtained during the internal clarification process,” said Adriansyah.
