Expansion of Greater Luwu: Commission II of the People's Consultative Assembly clarifies regulatory developments
The proposal to establish a new autonomous region (DOB) in Luwu Raya Province has returned to government attention. In response, Commission II of the People’s Consultative Assembly has drafted two Government Regulations as implementing regulations stemming from Law No. 23 of 2014, which contains the principal legal framework governing the implementation of regional autonomy in Indonesia, replacing Law No. 32 of 2004. This law emphasises the division of concurrent governmental affairs between the central government, provinces, and districts/municipalities, as well as strengthening the role of governors as representatives of the central government.
