Expanding to Eastern Indonesia, Crypto Literacy Programme Visits UNM Makassar - Investor Daily
Interest among the younger generation, particularly university students, in crypto assets continues to grow. This enthusiasm stems particularly from the rapid development of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, which can be utilised as investment assets in the current era of digitalisation.
The latest initiative saw Pintu, one of Indonesia’s crypto asset investment platforms, visit Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) through its Pintu Goes to Campus programme to deliver literacy on safe and prudent investment in crypto assets. This literacy programme was attended by around 100 students from UNM’s Digital Business Student Association (HIMABISDIG).
“We observed that the students attending this event have a fairly good understanding and literacy regarding crypto assets. We also noted a high level of curiosity, not only from an investment perspective but also concerning the underlying technology such as blockchain, and how crypto assets can be utilised prudently and responsibly in the future,” said Ilham in a press statement on Thursday (30/4/2026).
UNM is one of the universities that provides a forum for its students to understand the world of investment, including capital markets and crypto assets. Through the Digital Business Student Association (HIMABISDIG), which is a student organisation focused on developing knowledge and skills in digital business, UNM has the Stock & Cryptocurrency Ecosystem programme.
This ecosystem aims to serve as a forum to enhance knowledge in capital markets and cryptocurrency, enabling collective observation and analysis to gain profits in the future through asset development in stock and cryptocurrency investments.
“I believe this event can provide an overview of cryptocurrency and serve as a reference for fellow students in investing in crypto assets,” stated Valentino Aris, Lecturer in the Digital Business Programme and Advisor to UNM’s Digital Business Student Association.
In line with that, UNM Digital Business Lecturer Fadil Muhammad also encouraged UNM students to maximise the information obtained from the literacy programme.
“As we know, the current development of social media is flooded with so much information, one of which is issues related to cryptocurrency itself. Therefore, we think and consider that this event can become a new learning space for all of us to face the abundance of circulating information, particularly related to cryptocurrency,” added Fadil.
