Expanding Fintech Access: Customer Repayment Ability Remains Key
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The expansion of financing access through online lending companies, or fintech, is viewed positively in driving financial inclusion; however, customers’ ability to repay credit must remain a primary concern.
Financial consultant and planner Elvi Diana, in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, stated that developments in financial technology can provide easier alternative financing for individuals who lack collateral or an extensive credit history.
According to her, one form of this expanded access is evident in the use of alternative criteria during the loan application process, including the duration of a potential customer’s mobile phone number usage.
