Thousands of vehicles traversed the functionally opened Yogyakarta-Solo toll road segment Prambanan-Purwomartani to support the 2026 Eid exodus period beginning Monday, 16 April morning, marking H-6 (six days before Eid) 2026.

Based on calculations by the Back Office Smart Province DIY on the first operational day of this segment, the number of vehicles entering the Purwomartani Toll Gate (GT) from 06:00 to 15:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) recorded 2,808 units.

According to the report, the highest traffic period occurred between 14:00-15:00 WIB, recording 566 units.

An officer at the Purwomartani GT monitoring post, Iptu Nicolas Kus Indra Nugroho, stated that based on observations, the situation of vehicles entering the Prambanan-Purwomartani segment remained relatively sparse.

He noted that vehicle counts per 30-minute interval averaged only approximately 20-25 units. “It’s not particularly busy for those leaving Yogyakarta (DIY),” said Nico when interviewed at his post.

According to Nico, only towards evening was there a noticeable increase in vehicle volume, predominantly originating from the DIY region or greater Solo area based on vehicle plate identification.

“Because the plates are still new, marked AB and AD, these are likely just intercity vehicles,” he explained.

A significant increase in vehicle volume is predicted to occur only around H-1 or H-2 before Eid.

For information, this 12.25-kilometre toll segment is scheduled to operate for the next 14 days, or until 29 March 2026, to support the Eid return traffic this year.

Operational hours run from 06:00 to 18:00 WIB, and it should be noted that the segment is functionalised exclusively for vehicles travelling from the DIY direction towards Klaten, Solo, and surrounding areas.

Although currently toll-free, drivers wishing to traverse the Purwomartani Toll to exit DIY are reminded to check their electronic payment balance, as they will directly proceed to the Klaten Toll Gate, which is a paid exit.

Vehicles entering from Purwomartani Toll cannot exit at Prambanan, but must proceed directly to the Klaten Toll Gate or beyond.

The segment opened to support Eid exodus traffic is exclusively designated for Class I vehicles, which include light vehicles such as sedans, jeeps, minibuses, pick-up trucks or small lorries, and buses.

Vehicles using the route are limited to a maximum speed of 40 kilometres per hour.

Meanwhile, exodus travellers heading to the DIY region from Central Java can utilise the exit access via Prambanan Toll Exit or several other toll exit gates located in the Klaten area.

From these exit points, travellers can continue their journey towards the Yogyakarta region and surrounding areas via the arterial routes that have been prepared.
