Traffic flow on the Cipali toll road (Cikopo-Palimanan) has become increasingly congested with exodus travellers, dominated by minibuses. According to Antara news agency on Sunday (15 March 2026), Astra Tol Cipali’s Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head Ardam Rafif Trisilo reported that approximately 24,000 vehicles traversed the Cipali toll road between midnight and 9 a.m. WIB, travelling from Cikopo towards Cirebon.

Traffic volume increased by 16.8 per cent compared to the previous day. In the opposite direction, approximately 7,000 vehicles travelled from Cirebon towards Jakarta (Cikopo).

Overall, Astra Tol Cipali recorded a traffic volume increase of 8.1 per cent at the same time compared to the previous day. A 30 per cent toll tariff discount has been implemented from Sunday at midnight until Monday (16 March) at midnight WIB.

The discount applies to toll road users making continuous journeys from Cikampek Utama toll gate to Kalikangkung toll gate (Semarang). Ardam urged the public to take advantage of this toll tariff discount opportunity to plan their exodus journeys in advance.

Road users are also advised to manage their travel time carefully and rest at rest areas if feeling fatigued or drowsy. However, rest periods at rest areas are requested to be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes so that other road users may also utilise the facilities.

Additionally, road users can take advantage of facilities outside the toll road by exiting through the nearest toll gate and re-entering without incurring additional charges, as the transaction system on the Trans Java toll road uses a closed system.
