Polda Metro Jaya carried out the exhumation of the grave of Sutrimo, identified as the former Head of Household Affairs for ex-Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah, in Wlahar Village, Wangon District, Banyumas Regency, on Wednesday (12/8). The exhumation process was scheduled to begin at 10:00 WIB. The grave site had been cordoned off with police line and guarded by officers since Tuesday (11/8).

Polda Metro Jaya’s Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated the exhumation was supported by and conducted in cooperation with the Central Java Regional Police and the Banyumas Resort Police. “As scheduled, Wednesday, 12 August 2026, at 10 am,” Budi told reporters. He noted the process would be led directly by the Chair of the Indonesian Forensic and Medicolegal Doctors Association, Brigadier General Dr. Hastry, and Prof. Dr. Yudi. “The stages are exhumation, external examination, and internal examination,” he said.

Previously, the family’s legal counsel, Aan Rohaeni, said Sutrimo’s family would not witness the grave exhumation directly. “I am also a parent. Seeing a child slip and fall makes us tremble. Especially in a situation like this, it is certainly not easy,” Aan said when met by reporters at the cemetery complex on Tuesday (11/8) afternoon. Aan explained the family felt they could not bear to watch, so he would witness the exhumation as their representative. “The family decided their presence would only be represented by me. The reason the family is not watching is that they would not be able to bear it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sutrimo’s stepbrother, Tukim, said the family remained in mourning. He stated the deceased’s mother was still in shock, though her condition was improving. Tukim said the mother was aware of the exhumation plan and the family understood it was part of the case handling. “Her response, as an elderly person, is of course sadness. It brings back memories,” he told reporters on Tuesday. Despite the difficulty, the family expressed their acceptance of the exhumation and readiness to accept whatever results the examination yields. “Yes, we are sincere. Whatever the outcome,” Tukim affirmed. After the exhumation and reburial, the family plans to hold a communal prayer at the family home. He stressed the family is now focused on following the entire legal process, hoping the exhumation will help investigators uncover the facts surrounding Sutrimo’s death.

Sutrimo was found dead with foam at his mouth in front of the Mordent beauty clinic in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The family initially reported he died from a health issue, specifically diabetes. However, suspicions arose, leading the family to report the suspected unnatural death to the Banyumas Resort Police, which then transferred the case to Polda Metro Jaya. Polda Metro Jaya’s Director of Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated on Monday (10/8) that the case had been elevated from an inquiry to a full investigation. He expressed hope the exhumation would provide certainty for all parties, especially the family, regarding the mystery of Sutrimo’s death.
