Executive trains

Executive trains

From Jayakarta

Long years of waiting for improved service from the state
railways (Perumka) were finally ended by the launch of executive
trains the like of Argo Bromo, Argo Gede and Fajar Utama.

However, Perumka's service in its executive trains has
apparently but a short life span and has been a disappointment to
train passengers.

If Perumka does not want to be called wanting in its service,
its management should respond to the following complaints:

1. On Oct. 17 I traveled in the third wagon of the Fajar Utama
Executive. The air conditioner did not function and the
passengers had to resort to using fans to lessen the heat.

2. When I wanted to buy a ticket at the Fajar Utama Executive
counter in Gambir station, I was told the tickets were sold out.
It was strange that when people asked the intermediary railway
official, tickets at a higher price were made available.

3. On Oct. 21 I made the return trip from Semarang to Jakarta on
the same train. The wagon I was in was in good condition and
comfortable. But when the train stopped at Tanjungrasa station
hawkers boarded the train to offer their wares. How could such a
train be called executive?

Perumka's management should make checks on the spot to improve
overall service in order to satisfy their customers.
