Exception of three DPRD NTB gratuity defendants rejected
The Corruption Crimes Court panel at the Mataram District Court has rejected the exceptions or objections from three defendants in the gratuity case within the Nusa Tenggara Barat Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD NTB).
The ruling was delivered by the panel of judges, chaired by Dewi Santini, during an intermediate decision hearing at the Mataram Corruption Court on Thursday.
In its decision, the panel stated that the exception from defendant Hamdan Kasim is not accepted.
“Ruling, the exception from defendant Hamdan Kasim is not accepted,” said Dewi Santini.
Similar rulings were issued against the two other defendants, namely Indra Jaya Usman and M. Nashib Iqroman.
The panel considered that the indictment prepared by the public prosecutors meets the provisions of Article 143 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) as it was drafted carefully, clearly, and completely.
Regarding the mention of several recipient parties not designated as suspects, the panel stated that this does not affect the validity of the indictment.
The panel subsequently scheduled the continuation of the trial for Thursday (9/4) with the agenda of examining witnesses.
The judges also requested the public prosecutors to prepare and present the witnesses in the subsequent hearing.
