Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), known as InJourney, dispatched a total of 2,418 homebound travellers to various destinations across Indonesia under the 2026 Free Mudik Programme with SOEs. The national flag-off ceremony took place at the Ring Road area of Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta on 17 March.

Additionally, InJourney Airports had previously dispatched 400 mudik participants from Makassar to Surabaya on 16 March. The Makassar departure complemented the transport support provided by InJourney during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri season and demonstrated genuine SOE synergy for communities across the archipelago.

The mudik programme implementation reflects genuine concern for the public and facilitates safe, comfortable homecoming journeys whilst prioritising safety standards. The programme aims to help reduce traffic accident risks, which typically increase during the mudik season.

Herdy Harman, InJourney’s Human Resources and Digital Director, stated that the company’s participation in the programme represents SOE commitment to supporting communities and delivering social benefits.

“InJourney’s participation in this programme forms part of our commitment as an SOE holding company in the aviation and tourism sectors to provide inclusive connectivity with direct community impact. Through this initiative, we not only provide transport facilities but also ensure travellers experience safety and comfort whilst prioritising security standards,” he said in an official statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

The initiative aligns with the company’s ambition to create a meaningful Eid celebration. To this end, Herdy expressed hope that the initiative would help ease mudik traffic congestion whilst delivering sustainable social benefits to communities throughout Indonesia.

He noted that all transport modes utilised met strict safety and operational standards. InJourney Group ensured the departure process ran orderly, safely, and in accordance with applicable regulations.

One mudik participant from Solo, Heru, expressed gratitude for the InJourney Free Mudik programme in reducing travel costs to his hometown.

“Bus fares from Jakarta to Solo can reach approximately IDR 600,000 per person. With this programme, we are greatly helped because that budget can be redirected for daily needs and family expenses. The service is also comfortable, and this year there are improvements such as goodie bags and breaking-of-fast assistance. Going forward, we hope this programme can continue to be improved and better organised,” he said.

Another participant, Widhi from Boyolali, also expressed appreciation for the well-run programme. “Alhamdulillah I could participate in this mudik programme because everything is well organised, and the facilities and services are very adequate. Going forward, we hope the number of bus fleets and destination cities can be increased so more people can benefit,” said Widhi.

The 2026 Free Mudik with InJourney provides various transport modes from strategically located departure points including Jakarta, Tangerang, Makassar, and Ambon to numerous destination cities such as Solo, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Magelang, Surabaya, Lampung, Palembang, and Seram Island.

The programme is part of the national 2026 Free Mudik with SOEs initiative, which targets transporting approximately 100,000 homebound travellers via land, sea, and rail transport, supported by the SOE Regulatory Agency and BPI Danantara.

Through this tangible step, InJourney reaffirms its role as an SOE holding company focused not only on developing the national aviation and tourism sectors but also oriented towards social benefit and public safety, in line with the spirit of Safe Mudik, Shared Hope.
