Excelcomindo, LHS tie-up

JAKARTA (JP): Cellular phone operator PT Excelcomindo Pratama
has acquired the license to use a software application of U.S.
telecommunication software producer LHS to improve its customer
service.

The software, Web Service Center (WSC), will enable
Excelcomindo to activate services with new customers via the
World Wide Web or the Internet.

It also provides access to customer data and account
information, such as customer prepayment, pending requests,
credit limits and used tariff models, Excelcomindo president Yaya
Winarno Junardy said in a statement.

"By using the Web Service Center, we are able to easily reach
remote rural areas across the country," he added.

Excelcomindo has 140,000 subscribers with coverage including
Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Central Java, Bali and Lombok.
