Excelcom rip off

I am the holder of a Pro XL account for a mobile phone; the amount of each monthly invoice for this service is automatically debited from my Visa card account. In March I was in England on business and of course used the phone while I was there.

When I returned to Jakarta and received the account for the month of March it was recorded that there was a charge of Rp 739,094 for one call allegedly made by me to Indonesia for a 32:38 minute duration. But the call was allegedly made to the number of the office of my apartment block at 2:24 on a Sunday morning which would have been 7:24 Saturday evening, UK time.

I did not make this call and complained to ProXL who said that they had checked with their UK counterpart and the call was made. On the other hand I checked with my apartment owners and the number which allegedly called by me is their office number, but on that date it was closed at 12 noon on Saturdays. The office number does not have an answering machine and, naturally, if called, would have been unanswered at that time in the morning. A matter of common sense.

But ProXL flatly said that the charge had to be paid. Where is ProXL's common sense and logic?

For me to change the number which I have used for years is a disaster as it would mean that I have to print new business cards, stationary etc.
