Exceeding Expectations: Telkomsel's 'Terpujilah Guru' Reaches 3,800 Educators
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Telkomsel’s ‘Terpujilah Guru’ programme has reached more than 3,800 high school, vocational, and Islamic high school teachers through roadshows in Bogor, Sumedlag, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Pekanbaru, Ambon, Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, and Batam, as well as through online learning. The VP of Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility at Telkomsel, Abdullah Fahmi, stated that this figure exceeded Telkomsel’s expectations, noting that the initial target was only between 1,000 and 2,000 teachers.
“A total of 1,500 selected participants underwent a phased process, starting from selection, an online academy for 400 teachers, mentoring for 80 teachers, up to intensive offline training for the 12 best finalists in Jakarta,” Fahmi told the media on Wednesday (23/9/2026).
In detail, Fahmi explained that after mentoring educators in utilising artificial intelligence (AI), creating creative content, and designing digital learning, Telkomsel concluded the ‘Terpujilah Guru 2026’ series with an Awards Peak event for the best participating teachers. The programme assists teachers in using technology wisely and relevantly so that the learning process becomes easier to understand, engaging, and aligned with the needs of students and the current era.
Fahmi also admitted that the ‘Terpujilah Guru’ programme was originally conceived to ensure that teachers do not fall behind their students in the use of AI.
“The Terpujilah Guru curriculum is designed so that the skills learned can be applied immediately. Participants learn about human-centric AI utilisation, productivity, AI prompting, visual design, video creation, creative teaching methods, and digital assessment. Each participant also produces a final work in the form of materials and lesson plans that can be implemented and developed in their respective schools,” explained Fahmi.
To expand the sustainable impact, the ‘Terpujilah Guru’ programme also involves communities and professional organisations such as PGRI, MGMP, Guru Pejuang Digital, PPG Prajabatan, and 1000 Guru. Through a collaborative and needs-based approach, Telkomsel hopes that ‘Terpujilah Guru’ can become part of a collective effort to improve the quality of Indonesian education, while simultaneously strengthening the readiness of the next generation to face the digital era.
The programme’s conclusion was held through the ‘Puncak Anugerah Terpujilah Guru 2026’ in Jakarta (24/9). Twelve teachers as finalists presented the works and teaching practices developed during the programme. Based on assessments of the learning process, final works, and their implementation, Telkomsel designated the five best participants of ‘Terpujilah Guru 2026’ with the highest scores.
To ensure that the knowledge gained can reach more teachers and students in various regions, participants are connected to the EduCreator alumni network as a space to share materials, experiences, and teaching practices.
