A section of Lenteng Agung Main Road in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, heading towards Depok, has collapsed with a wide and deep sinkhole. The Water Resources Department (SDA) has deployed excavators to address the issue. Detikcom’s on-site observation on Friday, 29 May 2026 at 9:30 AM WIB showed excavators in operation, removing unstable road sections to prevent further collapse. Subsequently, excavators lowered steel plates to cover the sinkhole, preventing further subsidence in adjacent areas used by motorists. Motorists were temporarily halted for approximately 15 minutes while the excavators resumed work on the collapsed section. Google Maps data indicated traffic congestion from Tapal Kuda Lenteng Agung towards the collapsed road heading to Depok, with drivers slowing down as they approached the site. Police lines, barriers, traffic cones, and yellow markings were in place to keep drivers clear of the hole, which measured approximately 3 metres deep and 5 metres wide. The collapsed area was identified as an old drainage channel. Authorities marked the site with ‘Hit X’ using pylons, indicating it was a previously patched section. The Water Resources Department (SDA) and police officers are on-site managing the collapse and traffic flow, with local residents gathering near the affected area. According to TMC Polda Metro Jaya’s X account on 29 May, traffic congestion on Lenteng Agung Road was caused by the collapse, with delays stretching from north to south, specifically from Pasar Minggu towards Depok. A video uploaded by TMC Polda Metro Jaya showed the collapsed road, with vehicles creeping towards the site. ‘The current traffic situation on Lenteng Agung Main Road in South Jakarta due to the collapse is reported as busy and congested,’ stated TMC Polda Metro Jaya.
