Jakarta — Indonesia’s national strategic programme for Village/District Red-White Cooperatives (KDKMP) is currently attracting attention due to the large-scale procurement of operational vehicles intended to support the distribution of agricultural products and rural logistics across various regions of Indonesia.

A total of 105,000 vehicles will be imported directly from Indian manufacturers, with 70,000 commercial vehicles supplied by Tata Motors.

According to the official Tata Motors website, accessed on Monday, the fleet comprises 35,000 Tata Yodha pickup units and 35,000 Tata Ultra T.7 light truck units, which will be supplied through PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia for handover to PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara as the programme implementer.

The Tata Yodha is a light commercial pickup designed for cargo transport needs in the distribution, agriculture, light construction, and rural logistics sectors.

In terms of specifications, this model is equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine with direct injection (DI) that meets BS6 or equivalent emissions standards. The engine produces approximately 100 horsepower and peak torque of 250 Nm, with power transmitted through a 5-speed manual transmission.

The claimed robust chassis configuration and large load capacity make the Tata Yodha suitable for operation under various road conditions, including poorly surfaced terrain in villages.

Meanwhile, the Tata Ultra T.7 is a light truck that occupies the light commercial vehicle (LCV) class.

This engine produces up to 125 PS (approximately 123 bhp) at 2,800 rpm under heavy-duty operation, with torque reaching 360 Nm in the low to medium rpm range—an important value for trucks frequently carrying full loads.

The fuel tank capacity reaches 90 litres, supporting long-distance mobility in areas with limited fuel station access. The Ultra T.7 has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) or total vehicle weight when fully loaded of approximately 7,490 kg.

According to Tata Motors, the Yodha and Ultra T.7 are designed for high durability, extended operational time, and good operational economy, which is expected to strengthen rural connectivity and facilitate the smooth movement of goods from the village level to regional markets.
