The owner of Uhud Tour, Ustaz Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, has revealed that he has returned Rp 8.4 billion to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The funds are allegedly related to the case of suspected corruption in the hajj quota at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).

This was stated by Khalid after being examined as a witness in the hajj quota case on Thursday (23/4/2026). He mentioned that several other hajj travel bosses and association chairmen have also returned money like him.

“PT Muhibbah returned the funds to us, we don’t know what the money is for. The amount is around Rp 8.4 billion, yes, it has been returned,” said Khalid to reporters at the Merah Putih Building, South Jakarta, on Thursday (23/4/2026).

He explained that PT Muhibbah is a hajj travel company that offered to take pilgrims with official visas. Khalid did this even though he had previously taken pilgrims using the furoda quota. However, he claimed not to know about the visa arrangements offered by the Commissioner of PT Muhibbah, Ibnu Mas’ud.

Khalid stated that the money returned to the KPK was the money given back to him by PT Muhibbah. He said he did not know the origin of the funds. Khalid handed it over to the KPK after being asked by investigators during his examination.

“That money wasn’t kept by us. It was given by Muhibbah, then we don’t know what it is, the KPK asked for it, we returned it when requested,” he said.

Additionally, Khalid denied receiving illicit funds in the hajj quota case. Khalid claimed to be registered as a pilgrim with PT Muhibbah and was unaware that the hajj visas were problematic. He said he has no connection to the suspects.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed that Khalid has returned the money, just like other Special Hajj Organisers (PIHK) have done. “In the investigation of the alleged corruption case related to the hajj quota, the KPK has not only received the return of money from Mr KB, but also returns from other PIHKs,” said Budi.
