Examination of 3 Regional Legislators Accused of Intimidating Dr Icha Postponed
The examination of three members of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) and one civil servant from the North Central Timor (TTU) Livestock Service has been postponed. They are Therensius Lazakar (Golkar), Robert Tubani (PKB), Veronika Lake (PDIP), and Maria Mathildis Sau. The four are alleged perpetrators of intimidation against doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Icha.
‘Today we were supposed to conduct the examination of the reported parties. However, they were unable to attend today, so it has been postponed,’ said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Sigit Haryono, at the regional police headquarters on Monday (13/7/2026).
Sigit explained that the postponement was in accordance with a request from the legal counsel of the reported parties to the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, stating that they were unable to attend. The examination will now proceed on Tuesday (14/7/2026).
‘According to the investigators’ summons, they were scheduled to be questioned today, but there was a request from their legal counsel to postpone it until tomorrow,’ Sigit clarified.
According to Sigit, based on the report from Icha’s family, there are four reported individuals, so the joint investigation team is currently working intensively to conduct the examination process of a number of witnesses.
‘We hope that tomorrow they will be present at the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police headquarters to be questioned. All witnesses will be examined here,’ Sigit concluded.
Today, the police examined 32 witnesses. Of these, 27 witnesses were examined at the TTU Police Station. Meanwhile, five witnesses, namely the family of Dr Icha, were examined at the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police headquarters.
