Ex-Sumber Waras International Hospital Groundbreaking Set for August 2026
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will build an international-standard hospital at Jalan Kyai Tapa Number 1, West Jakarta. Construction on the land purchased from Sumber Waras Hospital is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the legal issues related to the sale and purchase of the former Sumber Waras Hospital land have now been fully resolved. This means there are no longer any obstacles to developing the 3.6-hectare site.
"What is not widely known concerns Sumber Waras Hospital. Alhamdulillah, the Sumber Waras Hospital matter, which had been unresolved for approximately 14 years, has finally been settled," he said in North Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6).
Consequently, Pramono stated that the groundbreaking will take place in August 2026. "Hopefully this August the groundbreaking will be carried out, because this will become an international hospital," he said.
The purchase of the former Sumber Waras Hospital land had previously been flagged by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) because the Tax Object Sales Value (NJOP) of the land was deemed too high. This finding prompted the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to launch an investigation. However, the KPK dropped the case in 2023.
