Ex-PLN boss in graft case
Tangerang: The Tangerang prosecutors office named the former secretary of the Tangerang state electricity provider (PLN), along with three of his staff, as suspects in a case of alleged corruption involving Rp 11 billion, carried out between 1990 and 2000.
Prosecutor's office chief Purwosudiro confirmed on Monday that the four suspects were former PLN office secretary Katiyanto, and his three staff Nur Hasan, Budi Indra and Adin Saepudin.
Purwo said the office had also confiscated several properties alleged to have been bought by the suspects, using money stolen from PLN. The properties include a car (registration number B9716HC), one Kopaja bus (B7745GD), four houses in separate locations in Tangerang and 10 hectares of building land in several locations in Tangerang and Pacitan, Central Java.
Separately, prosecutor Ferry Silalahi, who is responsible for special crimes at the office, said that he would investigate all of the seized properties.
Asnawai Sabrawi, the chief of Tangerang PLN office, who was also arrested along with Katiyanto and the three staff in June this year, was still being investigated by another team of prosecutors. --JP
