Ex-Miss Indonesia Riau Finalist Arrested for Running Illegal Facelift Practice

A former Miss Indonesia contestant with the initials JRF has been arrested by the Riau Provincial Police for posing as a beauty doctor. JRF has now been named a suspect. The arrest was carried out by the team from Subdirectorate IV of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) at Polda Riau. The suspect JRF is alleged to have run a beauty doctor practice without any medical background. “The suspect is suspected of claiming to be a doctor and performing medical procedures on victims,” said the Director of Reskrimsus at Polda Riau, Commissioner Ade Kuncoro, as reported by detikSumut on Wednesday (29/4/2026). JRF is known to be a former finalist for Putri Indonesia Riau. She was arrested after failing to appear for questioning twice. JRF was apprehended at her family’s residence in the Bukit Ambacang area, Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, on Tuesday (27/4). She was immediately taken to Polda Riau headquarters. Case Uncovered After Victim’s Report The case was uncovered following a report from a victim with the initials NS. The victim suffered serious injuries after undergoing a facelift and eyebrow facelift procedure at Arauna Beauty Clinic on Jalan Tengku Bey, Pekanbaru. “After the procedure, the victim experienced bleeding leading to a serious infection on the face and head,” said Ade. As a result of the procedure, the victim suffered pus-filled wounds and swelling, requiring intensive care. The victim also underwent further surgery at several healthcare facilities in Batam. The victim now has permanent disfigurement in the form of scarring on the scalp that prevents hair growth. Additionally, there is a long scar in the eyebrow area. Police state that JRF’s victims number more than one. So far, there are around 15 victims who have suffered facial damage due to procedures performed by the suspect. “One victim even experienced two failed lip surgeries, resulting in permanent disfigurement and psychological trauma,” he explained.
