Ex-leader Ershad back in prison
DHAKA (AFP): Bangladesh's deposed military dictator Hussain
Muhammad Ershad was sent back to prison, two days after being
rushed to a hospital with chest pains, prison officials said on
Sunday.
He was kept under observation for two days at the capital's
Suhrawardy Hospital and sent back to the Dhaka central jail
Saturday, officials said, without giving further details.
However, three prison officials have been suspended Ershad
reportedly held a secret meeting of his faction of the Jatiya
Party (JP) inside the hospital's coronary care unit, the Daily
Star reported.
Ershad, 70, reportedly the party members to bail him out by
paying a one million dollar fine for him as part of his sentence
in a graft case.
