Ex-Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah Detained Without Rompi Pink, Claims Criminalisation

Former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has officially been detained at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Merah Putih Detention Centre in South Jakarta. He was named a suspect and immediately detained following an examination related to an alleged money laundering case (TPPU). The examination by a team of investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (Tim 9) took place at the Main Building of the Attorney General’s Office from Friday afternoon until approximately 11:10 PM local time. When escorted out of the building on Friday night, Febrie was seen without the typical pink detention vest or handcuffs, wearing only a batik shirt. Speaking to the media, Febrie claimed he was being criminalised and that the decision to detain him was hasty. He argued that the evidence presented by the examining prosecutors still required further investigation and confirmation through a thorough case review mechanism. ‘In my view, this evidence is not sufficient for detention. In the Jampidsus building, the process was never like this,’ he stated. Despite feeling unfairly treated, Febrie affirmed he would remain cooperative and respect the ongoing legal process. ‘This is the leadership’s decision. I am ready to face it, but I still feel this is criminalisation,’ he added. Prior to his detention, Febrie was examined as a witness. This was his second summons, having previously been unable to attend on Wednesday due to health reasons. The case against the former high-ranking official stems from a new investigation warrant issued by the Attorney General’s Office on 20 July 2026.
