Ex governor's son arrested for corruption

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Zayat Kaimoeddin, the son of
former Southeast Sulawesi governor La Ode Kaimoeddin, was
arrested on Tuesday evening for alleged corruption.

The Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office said it had strong
evidence linking Zayat to corruption involving Rp 200 million
(US$24,390).

Prosecutor's office chief intelligence assistant Muh. Safir
said that Zayat, formerly a top official at the provincial
transportation office, was allegedly assisted by La Tara Patra in
conducting the corruption.

Tara has been named a suspect and is currently be tried at the
Kendari District Court. He and other witnesses have implicated
