Ex-cop wanted for rape of daughters

JAKARTA: A former police officer is wanted on suspicion of
raping his two daughters.

The suspect, First. Sgt. (ret) Igedius Petrus, 50, allegedly
escaped after his wife, Lily H. Elizabeth, 45, caught him
sexually abusing the girls late Tuesday night at their residence
in Cipayung, East Jakarta, East Jakarta Police chief of
detectives Sr. Comr. Putu Wijaya said on Wednesday.

The victims, aged 14 and 12, told their mother they had been
abused since 1995, Putu told reporters, adding that Igedius
Petrus, who had seven children, was a former officer of the
Kupang Police elite mobile (Brimob) forces. -- JP
