Evidence that Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments Found in Europe
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Evidence that Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments has been found in Europe. Specifically, in a religious relic located in Austria. The relic takes the form of a box said to be 1,500 years old, within a marble temple in an ancient church. There were also depictions of saints and scenes related to the Ascension of Christ. The discovery comes from a team of researchers from the University of Inssburck. It was reported that the church housing the relic had previously served as a sanctuary for pagans before imperial edicts were issued more than 1,600 years ago. ‘We know discoveries like this happen only once in a lifetime in archaeology as scientists,’ said the team leader, Geral Grabherr, quoted by the Daily Mail. The site measures 18 metres in length. The church features marble decorations with burial areas to the south and west. Inside the church, a stone sealed in a recess forming an altar was found. There lay the white marble box. The relic is circular and the fasteners are metal, while the clasps originate from wood. Unfortunately, at the time of discovery the relic was not intact but broken into pieces. In the box are several figures, including a bearded man in a long robe, and scenes corresponding to both the Old and New Testaments. From the findings, researchers conclude that it depicts Moses and Christ. The depiction may show Moses receiving the word of God or striking his staff to part the Red Sea. The team also said the box likely did not originate from southern Austria, as the materials are not from that region.
