Evidence- and Data-Based Policy Helps Indonesia Achieve Prosperity, Says Legislator

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission XIII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Rieke Diah Pitaloka, has stated that evidence-based policy and accurate data help the government fulfil the four guidelines of the Red and White Cabinet in order to achieve prosperity for Indonesia.

Speaking at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) in Jakarta on Friday, Rieke said the concept of the four Red and White Cabinet guidelines was sound and important, and to achieve it, the One Data Indonesia Bill must be enacted promptly so that accurate data can serve as the basis for development.

"Because this concept cannot possibly work without being based on accurate, actual, and relevant state data. On 21 July 2026, the draft of the One Data Indonesia Bill was already approved at the DPR Plenary Session. But to this day, the presidential letter has not been sent," said Rieke.

She said the presidential letter might still be being drafted, as there is still a 60-day timeframe. However, she noted, it cannot take too long because there are steps that need to be taken immediately, such as emergency food interventions, which must be data-based in order to be precisely targeted.

"Data is the new oil, as the President often says," Rieke stated.

The four guidelines of the Red and White Cabinet are as follows:

• Working to uphold and implement the mandates of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.

• Safeguarding, executing, and protecting the core and vital national interests, including protecting the wealth of the Indonesian nation.

• Overcoming the people’s hardships in the shortest possible time.

• Oriented towards the interests of the people, their children, and their grandchildren.
