Everything on the people's behalf? From Media Indonesia

Members of our political elite have become increasingly disgusting in their behavior, as they claim whatever they do has been done on the people's behalf. Even demonstrating university students and non-governmental organizations make the same claim. Ironically, none of them have been able to pull the people out of the present crisis.

As ordinary people, we have become increasingly disgusted at the behavior shown by our political elite. What is needed now is hard work, not fiery speeches. The people need results, not just theorizing. We need leaders who are ready to meet the ordinary people, not a queen confined only to her palace. We do not need experts that keep discussing things in one hotel or another.

It seems to us, the people, that members of the political elite are shameless. They have to ask themselves whom they are and what have they done for the benefit of the people.
