Evacuation of Overturned Truck on BKT Cakung Bridge Completed, Traffic Returns to Normal

The handling of an accident involving a truck on the BKT Cakung Bridge in East Jakarta has been completed. The truck, which had overturned and caused traffic congestion, has now been evacuated.

“A traffic accident between a truck and a car on the BKT Cakung Bridge in East Jakarta, at the point after the Harapan Indah Toll exit. The truck has now been evacuated,” wrote the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, as quoted by detikcom at 09.40 WIB on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

From the uploaded post, building materials transported by the truck were still visible at the location. Police have begun to manage the traffic flow.

“Traffic flow heading towards Pulogadung is starting to move normally, and road users are urged to remain patient,” the statement continued.

Previously, the accident had impacted traffic flow, causing congestion for vehicles heading towards Pulogadung. “Currently being handled, traffic flow heading towards Pulogadung is observed to be heavy,” TMC Polda Metro had written.

Police advised motorists to seek alternative routes. It is not yet known whether there were any casualties in the incident.
