Eva nets 120,000 passengers
JAKARTA (JP): Taiwan's Eva Air flew about 120,000 people to or from Indonesia last year, the airline's local representative said yesterday.
Peter Chen said that last year's result was 33 percent higher than its 99,000-passenger figure for 1995.
"The number of passengers from Taiwan to Indonesia and from Indonesia to Taiwan is expected to increase only by five percent this year," he said, adding that the higher increase in previous years mainly resulted from the opening of new routes.
Eva Air, owned by Taiwan's Evergreen Group, began flying in 1991.
The airline links Jakarta and Taipei (seven times a week), Denpasar and Kaohsiung (twice a week) and Surabaya to Kaohsiung and Taipei (four times a week). (04)
