Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor stated that the government is preparing competent workers for the green industry or green jobs. This need is rising in line with the growth of the electric vehicle market. Afriansyah views the transition to a green economy as a necessity. The electric vehicle sector is one of the main pillars in the future job ecosystem. “The rapid market momentum in the last three years certainly has a direct impact on the need for workers with competencies in electric-based automotive technology, digitalisation, and supporting skills for the green industry,” he said on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Afriansyah, familiarly known as Ferry, explained that this step aligns with the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. The government is promoting the development of quality human resources. The Ministry of Manpower is pursuing a strategy of collaboration with industry. One partner is PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia or HMMI. “In 2023, PT HMMI provided a grant of 5 vehicles for the development of vocational training in the automotive field at the Bandung BBPVP (Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas). This is a concrete form of strategic collaboration that we hope will continue, followed by other companies,” he said. “Synergy between government, industry, and training institutions is the key to enabling Indonesia to create productive workers ready to face future challenges in the green jobs sector,” said Ferry.
