EV Mode Test on Chery Tiggo 8 CSH: How Many Kilometres Can It Achieve?
JAKARTA – The Chery Tiggo 8 CSH has been selected as one of the participants in the Electrification Journey Festival 2026. During this event, the plug-in hybrid SUV was not only tested for performance, but its energy consumption and fuel efficiency were also measured.
The route covered was quite extensive, namely Jakarta to Yogyakarta and back. Notably, the entire journey was completed with only one full fuel tank refill.
In terms of specifications, the vehicle is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 18.3 kWh. The manufacturer claims that when fully charged, EV mode can enable the vehicle to travel up to 90 kilometres without assistance from the petrol engine.
However, based on testing conducted, the figure displayed on the instrument panel was actually higher. When using EV mode exclusively, the distance shown could reach 97 kilometres.
During the test, the driving mode used was Eco to optimise energy efficiency. Despite this, normal driving style was maintained without applying any special eco-driving techniques.
These results demonstrate that the EV mode energy efficiency of the Tiggo 8 CSH is quite impressive, even exceeding the manufacturer’s initial claims under real-world road conditions.
