PT PLN continues to accelerate efforts to strengthen the reliability of the electric vehicle ecosystem in line with the growing trend of electric vehicle usage, including in DKI Jakarta. This commitment is realised through the addition of the fourth SPKLU Center in Jakarta, located at Sakura Garden City, East Jakarta.

It is known that the SPKLU Center is a large-scale electric vehicle charging hub with at least 10 charger connectors. As available at Sakura Garden City, PLN provides a total of 6 chargers consisting of 3 ultra fast charging units with 120 kW capacity, 2 ultra fast charging units with 200 kW capacity, and 1 medium charging unit with 22 kW capacity, with a total of 10 CCS2 and AC type connectors.

PLN’s strategic step to accelerate green infrastructure receives full support from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Office, Syaripudin, conveyed appreciation for PLN’s consistency in building the future transportation ecosystem in Jakarta.

“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government fully supports the development of electric vehicles as part of efforts to reduce emissions and improve air quality. The presence of this SPKLU Center is concrete evidence of collaboration in accelerating the clean energy transition in Jakarta,” said Syaripudin.

PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, emphasised that strengthening SPKLU infrastructure is a strategic step to provide comfort and certainty for the increasing number of electric vehicle users. This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate to promote national electrification and achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 or sooner.

“PLN continues to move forward in addressing the challenges of the times. We not only provide electricity but also support a green lifestyle. In line with the President’s directive to accelerate electrification in various sectors, PLN is present to provide certainty and comfort for EV users. This infrastructure enhancement is a symbol of our readiness to welcome the increasingly popular era of green transportation,” Darmawan asserted.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of PLN’s Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin, explained that this fourth SPKLU Center in Jakarta is one of the most comprehensive electric vehicle charging facilities in Jakarta.

“The growth of EV infrastructure aligns with the surge in SPKLU transactions in Jakarta, reaching 803,235 transactions in 2025 and 430,593 transactions in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of more than five times compared to the same period last year. This shows the continuously increasing number of electric vehicle users, and PLN is ready to match it with increasingly extensive infrastructure,” Andy added.

The presence of this SPKLU Center complements similar facilities operating in Bulungan, Menteng, and the Cibubur Rest Area at KM 10.6. To date, PLN together with partners has operated a total of 718 SPKLU chargers spread across 405 locations in Jakarta and surrounding areas.

To facilitate electric vehicle users, PLN also offers digital services through the PLN Mobile application. Through this application, customers can easily find SPKLU locations, make transactions, and access various integrated electricity services.

“With increasingly extensive infrastructure support and integrated digital services, PLN is optimistic that electric vehicle usage in Jakarta will continue to grow sustainably,” Andy concluded.
