Moscow (ANTARA) - The European Union’s imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia rose 21 percent year-on-year in May to 2.267 billion cubic meters, after a decline in April, according to Bruegel’s data analysis.

Russian LNG imports had reached a record 2.459 billion cubic meters in March, the highest level since Bruegel began tracking data in 2019.

The volume fell 11.8 percent month-on-month in April.

LNG supplies from the Middle East were recorded at zero in May amid production halts in Qatar. During January-May, the volume fell by more than half to 2.601 billion cubic meters.
