Europe venture for Asia

JAKARTA (JP): Three European firms -- Impregilo of Italy, NCC of Sweden and Strabag of Germany -- have formed a joint venture to develop their business in large-scale infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia.

Italian Trade Commission's Jakarta representative said in a statement yesterday that the venture, called INS Contractors, would target projects on hydraulic engineering, maritime ports and oil rigs.

INS Contractors will also eye projects on airports, motor ways, railways, building construction and works for environmental protection. (rid)
